Brief description of your background

Anthony joined Ringmer Community College in 2003 from a commercial background.

Training 

Along with three other key personnel, Anthony recently undertook a two-day ‘SLICT’ course – Strategic Leadership in ICT, which the head must go on before other members of staff can attend. The other three staff were the Business and Finance Manager, the Design & Techmology Leader and the Assistant Principal responsible for ICT. The course is run by the National College for School Leadershio (NCSL) in association with the Specialist Schools Trust and BECTA (British Educational Communications and Technology Agency).

Anthony trains other staff in the use of ICT.

Impact of the training on your job role

  • Creation of a holistic Vision Statement
  • Significant inroads have been made towards agreeing CPD (continuing professional development) targets for 06/07
  • new ways of agreeing ICT sending priorities
  • enabling better cross-curricular ICT provision for Teaching and Learning
  • use of 'E Confidence Matrix’ which enables the college to identify where it is now and where it wants to be
  • use of the Framework for ICT Technical Support (FITS) developed by BECTA to implement ICT initiatives
