How to become a Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA)

A Quick Overview

Each Local Authority (LA) has been allocated money form the Training and Development Agency (TDA), previously known as the Teacher Training Agency (TTA) for teaching assistants to gain HLTA status. You will need to contact your LA to apply for this grant funding. There are a range of courses available to meet your needs in gaining HLTA status, it is important that you speak to your headteacher/line manager and your LA so that you can select the right course.
